Paddlers are required to attend the briefing and have practiced paddling with their swimmers. Skippers. Boat skippers are the unsung heroes of the swim. Your role begins when you accept to assist a solo or team of swimmers to complete the swim months before the actual event.

Each swimmer or team requires a support boat 5-12 metres in length with a qualified skipper, and is strongly encouraged to have a support paddler to accompany them .

Role of Paddler. Whilst it is not compulsory to have a paddler, it is highly recommended, especially solo swimmers.

'Halls' are in scarce supply and are therefore generally only available to first year students. Living in halls give students time to settle into their new environment and make friends before moving into privately rented accommodation in their second year.

Exact selection criteria for the Pan Pacs team has not been made available yet, but the top three swimmers in almost every event at Nationals usually earn an invite, with the top four in the 100 and 200 free getting invited for relay purposes.
