Do team swimmers use wool fat?

Post by BeachedAs »

I'm presuming wool fat is really only for the solos/duos as it could get messy for team swimmers? Newbie with no idea!

If swimmers have lanolin, leave them on their bodies, wear old sports clothes, and throw them away. Fat will help keep the body warm until they take a hot bath.

Because it can hurt team swimmers, I don't believe that wool grease is only for solo or duet swimming. Up until you take a hot bath, fat will assist keep you warm.

It seems you might be referring to lanolin, often called "wool fat." Lanolin is a natural substance derived from sheep's wool, and it is commonly used in skincare products. If you're using it for swimming, it's crucial to consider factors like water resistance and potential mess, especially in a team setting.

For solo or duo swimmers, the use of lanolin may be more manageable, and its benefits for skin hydration and protection could be appreciated. However, for team swimmers, it might be practical to explore alternative skincare options that are less likely to cause mess or inconvenience during group activities.

As a newcomer, experimenting with different products and routines to see what works best for you is a good approach. Always consider the specific needs of your activities and the preferences of your team members when choosing skincare products for swimming.

In general, swimmers have a lot more mass (both fat and muscle) than runners because each extra pound doesn't hurt them as much in the water. Also, women will always have more bodyfat than men. Because that's how living things work.
